Being Badly Taught
One of the main characteristics of us as human beings is learning.
We learn constantly, from the moment we leave our mother’s womb, or maybe even before that.
That is mainly because learning is our greatest tool for survival: we learn how to move, how to act, how to adopt, how to eat, how to build… and so on, in the end, we learn how to live.
This, in the largest way, determines our position in life, and therefore it is quite strange that nobody actually teaches us how to learn.
Have you ever thought of that? No one inside or outside the educational system teaches us how to learn. Instead, we are being told what to learn, over and over again.
And we all learn in the same, traditional way, trying to mechanically re-produce information that is given to us.
Unfortunately, the traditional way of learning is at odds with the way our brain works, and therefore it restrains the development of our mind, negatively affecting it.
Another unfavorable fact is that the world we live in, and the way we live today, are completely unhealthy for our mind.
Nevertheless, by knowing, it is possible to change all of that :)
There are many people who wrote on this subject, from Tony Buzan to nowadays famous learner Jim Kwik, but before we get to know their methods, we must get familiar with the circumstances.
